Records are meant to be broken and in Tuesday’s track and field triple dual meet featuring host Tippecanoe Valley High School, Caston and Culver Military Academy, three records were broken.

On senior night, junior Rex Kirchenstien broke two individual records for the Tippecanoe Valley boys track and field team. He broke the 100-meters record with 10.66 seconds and the 200 record with 22.94 seconds. Both records were set by Andrew Wood in 1986. Jenny Moriarty, Tippecanoe Valley’s head boys and girls track and field coach, said Kirchenstien is one of those kids that every coach is excited to have and added he proved it in the triple dual meet.
