Teresa ‘Terry’ Koebcke

Teresa “Terry” Koebcke, 57, Kewanna, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020, at home surrounded by her family and friends.
Born Aug. 23, 1962, in Starke County, she was the daughter of James and Lynn (Fagan) Downhour. She was a 1980 Rochester High School graduate.
On March 3, 2000, she married Russell C. Koebcke. He survives.
Terry was employed at Woodlawn Hospital in the cafeteria. She was formerly employed at Winamac Coil Spring and Dean Foods of Rochester. Terry also worked for several years at her mother’s restaurant, the former Lynn’s Coffee Shop in Kewanna.
Terry enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her flowers. She will be remembered for her immaculate landscape which was completed in early spring so she could host Easter dinner and the annual egg hunt for family. She was known for her creativity and loved crafting, painting and home decorating projects. She loved decorating her home for every holiday including Easter this year. Family always looked forward to and enjoyed her Christmas gift bags that consisted of home baked goods and handmade ornaments.
Terry enjoyed numerous pastimes including loving on her dog, Charlie, shopping at antique stores and garage sales, watching Colts football, spoiling her nieces and nephews and making memories with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Russell C. Koebcke, Kewanna; her mother, Lynn Downhour, Rochester; her sisters, Jackie Burkett (Gerry), Rochester, and Jamie Shidler, Rochester; her brother, Jimmy Downhour (Susie), Rochester; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walt and Donna Koebcke, Kewanna; her brother-in-law, Brett Koebcke, Rochester; and her sisters-in-law, Chera Koebcke, Fort Wayne, and Laura Dzugas (Shawn), Chesterton. She leaves behind 15 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Terry was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mattie Lee Koebcke (May 2, 2001-May 15, 2001); and father James Downhour.
Due to current crowd restrictions from state, federal and CDC guidelines, Terry’s visitation and service will be private. Her service will be livestreamed on the funeral home’s Facebook page at noon Saturday, March 28, 2020. A public celebration of Terry’s life will be held in the future for family and friends. Burial will be at Bruce Lake Cemetery.
