Dr. Philip Charles Clinger, DVM, 95, of Franklin, passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, at his residence at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community.

Born on May 13, 1925, in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Wilbur T. and Gail (McDaniel) Clinger, Phil was just 16 years old when he left home to join the military. He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army infantry in the Pacific Theater from October 1941 through May 1945. He was at Wheeler Field in Hawaii during the Pearl Harbor attack, and continued service throughout the Pacific in Australia, New Guinea, and the Philippines.
