Deb Vigar watches poll worker Marianne Christianson sign paperwork after returning from her vote center Tuesday night at the Fulton County Courthouse.

In Tuesday’s general election, Fulton County voters overwhelming chose Republican candidates to represent them in local offices. Among nine locally contested races, Republicans took all of them.

The most closely watched races were for two seats on the Fulton County Council. District 3 County Councilman Randy Sutton and District 4 County Councilman Jim Showley, both Democrats, were unable to defend their seats against their Republican challengers.
