The city of Rochester is taking continuous action to aid in preventing any spread of COVID-19 at the city government level.

“As the Federal and State Governments continue to make policy changes and implement new measures, we will also continue to evolve,” a city press release states. “Again, we will reiterate the importance of being diligent and not panic. The Fulton County Health Department is the lead organization for our community and we are working closely with them on this event.”

As a previous press release states, all nonessential city meetings have been canceled for 30 days and all non-city meetings at city facilities have been canceled or postponed for 30 days. In addition to these measures, the city of Rochester has issued the following directives:

This year’s Summer Parks Program has been canceled.

The opening of the Rochester City Pool will be delayed.

Rochester water and wastewater utilities will suspend any penalties for nonpayment for 60 days.

Rochester water and wastewater utilities will suspend any shutoffs for 60 days. This, however, does not negate the payment of the bill.

Those who need to contact the utility office to make payment arrangements should call 223-3412 or email
