Rochester Middle School Project


The Board of School Trustees (the "Board") of the Rochester Community School Corporation (the "School Corporation") will hold a public hearing in accordance with Indiana Code 20-26-7-37 on Monday, February 17, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. (local time) in the Community Room of the Learning Center, 1810 Park Road, Rochester, Indiana, concerning the proposed plans to construct, repair or alter the school facility described below at a cost that would be paid for from funds received by the School Corporation from the sale of Riddle Elementary School by the School Corporation to the Rochester Community School Building Corporation pursuant to a lease agreement under Indiana Code 20-47-2 or Indiana Code 20-47-3. The improvement of such school facility proposed to be undertaken by the School Corporation is described as follows:

Rochester Middle School Project -The Rochester Middle School Project consists of the completion of certain improvements including replacement of certain portions of the roof; security upgrades consisting of a secure entry vestibule, power to main entry doors, card readers at main entry doors, and exterior door improvements; canopy, transite and lighting improvements; fire alarm, emergency power and exterior lighting improvements; exterior maintenance consisting of concrete improvements, caulking and sealing; locker room shower improvements; gymnasium lighting improvements and repainting of the gymnasium ceiling; and improvements to address pool electrical and corrosion issues.

At the hearing, the Board will give explanations of the potential value of the proposed project of the School Corporation and to the community, including its educational purposes and estimated costs, tax impact and funding sources; interested parties may present testimony and questions concerning the proposed project; and the Board will meet to discuss and hear objections and support to the proposed project.
