RHS seeks better communication
Boys basketball

Rochester (1-9, 1-2 Three Rivers Conference) at Tippecanoe Valley (4-7, 2-1), 6:15 p.m./7:45 p.m. (JV/Varsity): RHS coach Rex Reinholt hopes that he emphasizes much more than basketball. He speaks of "life lessons." He said one of those life lessons is handling adversity, and trying to win at Valley might be an example of an adverse situation. RHS has lost eight straight times to Valley and has not beaten the Vikings since Jan. 14, 2011. They also haven't beaten Valley on Valley's home court since a 58-56 win in the Winning Edge Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28, 2006.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - The last step toward making Alabama's run of championships under Nick Saban the greatest in college football history was the toughest.

The Crimson Tide needed all its power and speed. It needed all its talent and steely resolve. When that alone couldn't do it, it was up to one gutsy trick to help win the fourth national title of the Saban dynasty.

Derrick Henry, O.J. Howard and Kenyan Drake hit No. 1 Clemson with long touchdowns, and No. 2 Alabama outlasted the dynamic play of Deshaun Watson to win the College Football Playoff championship 45-40 on Monday night.
