David Mark Zartman
Dec. 27, 1960 - June 26, 2014
David Mark Zartman, 53, Twelve Mile, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1960, in Peru, the son of David Bender and Barbara Joann (Arthur) Zartman.
Mr. Zartman was employed at Medtronic Inc., Warsaw, and had worked for many years at Lau Industries, Rochester. Over the years he had also worked at various restaurants as a chef in Kokomo, Peru and in Bradenton, Fla. He was a member of the Twelve Mile United Methodist Church, loved to travel, read and spend time with his nieces and nephews. Most of all he enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Joann Zartman, Twelve Mile; two sisters, Twila and husband Kevin Childress, Sharpsville, and Robin Spencer and fiance Larry Freeman, Royal Center; nieces Shannon and husband Henry Torres, Logansport, and Melisa and husband Tony Holmes, Sharpsville; nephew Adam Spencer, Logansport; great-niece and -nephew, Anthony Torres and Riana Torres, Logansport; honorary brother, Josh Cree, Twelve Mile; aunts and uncles, Harvey and wife Peggy Arthur, Akron, and Mary and husband Richard Wood, Akron; numerous cousins; and his feline companion, Frankie.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and special aunt, Jane Jones.
Memorial service is to be conducted 6 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Twelve Mile United Methodist Church, Twelve Mile. Friends may visit from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico. Memorial contributions may be made to the Twelve Mile First Responders, Twelve Mile United Methodist Church, Deedsville United Methodist Church, or the American Liver Foundation.
