Larry Joe Bucks, 78, Rochester, and formerly of Kewanna, passed away at 5:58 p.m. on June 14, 2017, at his residence.

He was born on March 22, 1939, in Winamac, the son of Joseph E. and Mable P. (Miller) Yoder Bucks. On Dec. 6, 1969, at the Kewanna Methodist Church, he married Patricia Boissier. She survives.

Larry graduated from Grass Creek High School and began his working career at International Harvester, Kewanna. For the next 50 years, he worked as a long-haul truck driver after beginning his career with Navajo trucking. After retirement, Larry enjoyed working in the maintenance department of Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.

He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Rochester, and a member of the Fulton Masonic Lodge, Fulton.

In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, attending auctions, loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed the companionship of his three dogs, Cooper, Clayton, and Muffy.

He is survived by his wife, Pat, Rochester; his children, Kathy and husband Raymond Franko, Winamac, Chris and wife Kim Schramm, Winamac, Laura and husband J.T. Mays, Winamac, and Susie and husband Jim Downhour, Rochester; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Jerad A. Mays; sister "Sis" and her husband Forrest Baker; and brother Bill and wife Henrietta Yoder.

His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017, at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic service at 6 p.m. on Friday. Burial will be at the Kewanna Citizens IOOF Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at
