Clair Andrew Noftsger, 77, Lane Park Retirement Village, Sidney, Ohio, passed away peacefully Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at his residence.
Clair was born Nov. 29, 1936, in Rochester to the late Frank and Burnette (Strong) Noftsger.
Surviving are his children Michael Andrew Noftsger, Williamsburg, Va., Brian Lee and Michelle Noftsger, Sidney, Ohio, and Rodney Joe and Elizabeth Noftsger, Plymouth; and grandson Christopher James Noftsger.
Clair was preceded in death by his brothers, Benny and Jack Noftsger.
Clair served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Sidney American Legion Post No. 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4239 in Sidney. Clair had an ear for music and could play the trumpet. He loved to go fishing and work sudoku puzzles. He was a licensed certified public accountant and had worked at Noftsger Accounting.
A graveside service for Clair, with full military honors, is Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at 1 p.m., at the Springdale Cemetery, 2796 W. Broadway, Bunker Hill (west of Bunker Hill, and about 1/4 mile east of U.S. 31).
