James Edward McCune
Oct. 15, 1941 - Aug. 6, 2014

James Edward McCune, 72, Argos, passed away at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at his residence.

James was born on Oct. 15, 1941, in Argos, to Merle and Leona (Ringle) McCune. On Nov. 22, 1962, at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, Culver, he married MariEdd Allen.

He was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1959, the first class to attend the new high school. He had worked as a mechanic, but his true passion was farming. He was a past member of the Rochester Moose Lodge and the Culver Eagles Lodge. He had been active in the Antique Tractor Pullers Association.

Survivors include his wife, MariEdd McCune, Argos; two daughters, Rhonda Lea McCay and husband Mike, Argos, and Darla Kay Harrington and husband Mike, Remington; six grandchildren, Staci Singleton, Erica Haag and husband Chad, Carly McCay, Ryan Harrington, Sean Harrington, and Matthew Harrington; two great-grandchildren, Whittlee Singleton and Weston Haag; sister Sue Ecker and husband Lou, Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; and brother Kenneth McCune and wife Joan, Rochester.

A graveside funeral service is Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, with the Gentiva Hospice chaplain presiding.

Arrangements are entrusted to Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
