Alvin R. Lowe, 76, rural Warsaw, passed away at 10:02 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at Mason Healthcare of Warsaw.
He was born April 19, 1937, in Jamestown, Tenn., to Robert S. and Elizabeth (Hoover) Lowe. On Nov. 18, 1972, in Akron he married Thelma Bowling Hively.
Alvin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church, Silver Lake. He loved woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Lowe, Warsaw; a daughter, Lisa Ann Smith, Jamestown, Tenn.; two sons, Waldon Glenn Lowe, Jamestown, Tenn. and Jeffrey Allen Lowe, Jamestown, Tenn.; three stepdaughters, Donna Shoemaker, Louise Owens and Cindy Hively; three stepsons, Larry Booth, Bennie Hively and Mickey Hively; three sisters, Alta Smith, Ina Crawford and Elva Blevins; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Rev. Loren Bradley officiating. Visitation is noon-1 p.m. on Tuesday, at the King Memorial Home, Mentone. Burial is in Harrison Center Cemetery, Etna Green.
