Phyllis Jean Reed, 77, Rochester, died on Jan. 3, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at her home.

On Feb. 8, 1936, Phyllis Jean Cochran was born, a precious daughter of Andrew and Lavina (Henderson) Cochran. As one of eleven children, Phyllis was the youngest. She shared her childhood with five sisters and four brothers.

Phyllis was a proud graduate of Rochester High School. She later went on to study health care. She worked at the Rochester Nursing Home and later Hickory Creek as a nurses aide.

On Sept. 24, 1960, Phyllis and Russell "Russ" Wayne Reed were married in Rochester. Sadly, Russ preceded her in death on July 3, 1968, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Phyllis is lovingly remembered by a daughter, Susan Baker and husband Rick; a son, Steven Wayne Reed; a grandson, Kevin Baker, all of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Phyllis in death are her parents; husband; five sisters, Margaret, Mary, Mildred "Mitzi", her twin sister Doris, and Rachel June, at age 3; five brothers, Francis, Chuck, Ernie, Don and infant Lawrence Everett Cochran.

A celebration of the life of Phyllis J. Reed will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8,2014, at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, with Chaplain Jason See officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice. Online expressions of sympathy may be made to her family at Arrangements made by Good Gamily Funeral Home, Rochester.
