Oct. 20, 1931 - Nov. 29, 2013
William David "Willie" Sult, 82, Rochester, was surrounded by his loving family when he died at 11:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Woodlawn Hospital.
Willie was born in Richland Township on Oct. 20, 1931, the treasured son of Clifford L. and Wilma M (Weirick) Sult.
Following his high school years at Richland Center, Willie joined the U.S. Air Force, serving our country from 1951-1955 while being stationed in Japan.
On Nov. 8, 1959, Willie married the love of his life Diana Marie Wagoner. Together they shared 54 years of life's adventures raising three wonderful sons David, Mark and Brian. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In the early years Willie worked as a mechanic for Louderback Chevrolet located at Sixth and Main streets. He later transitioned to Dean's where he worked in the cooler and moving milk with the forklift. He retired from Dean's in 2004 after 39 years of dedicated service.
Diana and Willie enjoyed embracing the outdoors by camping out. Their love for camping with the boys began with their pop-up and evolved to camping adventures in their motor home. As members of the Fulton County Campers Association they camped at a different site each month. Some of their favorite locales are Fish-n-Fun, Lake 16, France Park and Hoffman Lake. Their was nothing quite like the memories made as they relaxed around the campfire telling stories under the starlit summer skies. Willie also loved to tinker with all types of engines from lawn mowers to cars.
Left to cherish Willie's memory are his wife, Diana at home; three sons, David Sult and companion Brandy Dust, Rochester, Mark Sult, Warsaw, and Brian Sult and partner Gary Jaworski, Cotopaxi, Colo.; four grandchildren, Angel, Krista, Jared and Misty; and four great-grandchildren, Addison, Zachary, Bryce and Kimber. Preceding Willie in death are his mother, Wilma in 1965, and his father, Clifford in 1971.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with Pastor Terry Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in Rochester's IOOF Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the Fulton County Veteran's Honor Team and the US Air Force Honor Detail. Friends may visit with his family from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Society through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation.
