Albert Leroy Eshelman
Jul. 30, 1919 - Oct. 18, 2013

Albert Leroy Eshelman 94, Rochester, died at 5:40 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Life Care Center of Rochester.

He was born on July 30, 1919, in Rochester, the son of Albert and Armilda (Reese) Eshelman. Leroy served with the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Upon his return from World War II, he married Doris Emmons on June 29, 1946, in Rochester.

Mr. Eshelman had been a farmer. He had also worked for many years transporting milk for farmers to the processing plants, transporting gasoline for Heyde Oil Company, and had hauled Christmas trees for many years. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir, the Odd Fellows Lodge and the American Legion. In his spare time he enjoyed playing euchre.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Eshelman, Rochester; daughter, Joyce L. Walker and husband David, Hebron; granddaughters, Julie Mikulich and husband Greg, Lowell; Jackie Gibson and husband Cory, Darien, Ill.; great-grandsons, Camden Mikulich and Easton Mikulich, both of Lowell; sisters, Frances Carlson and husband Myron, Valparaiso, and Jeanette Geiselman, Culver; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Eshelman.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 22, 2013, at Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Buck Padilla officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Odd Fellows Services will take place at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans' Honor Guard.
