Mary E. Borntrager
July 26, 1937 - Sept. 4, 2013

Mary E. (Stutzman) Borntrager, 76, Nappanee, died at her home on Sept. 4, 2013, at 1 a.m. She was born July 26, 1937, to Edward and Elizabeth (Yoder) Stutzman.

She married Toby R. Borntrager on Oct. 2, 1958. They lived in matrimony 54 years, 11 months and two days.

She leaves to mourn, her husband; nine daughters, Barbara Ann (Dan) Borntrager, Goshen, Bettie (Wilbur) Troyer, Fannie Mae (Daniel) Borntrager Jr., Ida (Aaron Jay) Miller, Susan (Amos) Borntrager Jr., Edna Ellen (Marion) Beechy, all of Etna Green, Martha (LaVern) Yoder, Esther Irene Borntrager, both of Nappanee, and Nettie (Harley) Schwartz, Akron; 47 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Amelia (Enos) Yoder, Esther (Henry) Kauffman, both of Clarissa, Minn., Barbara (Henry) Yoder, Granger, Minn., Rachel (Vernon) Mullett, Waupaca, Wis., and Mattie (Menno) Kauffman, Granton, Wis.; and brothers, Dan (Anna) Stutzman, Milton, Iowa, Jerry (Emma) Stutzman, Independence, Iowa, John (Mary) Stuzman, Granton, Wis., Perry (Mary) Stutzman, Delhi, Iowa, Chester (Sara) Stutzman, Cornell, Wis., and David (Mary) Stutzman, Marlotte, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary Borntrager; and a great-grandson, Leon Jay Miller.

Mrs. Borntrager was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Family and friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday at the Aaron Jay Miller Residence, 7717 N. 800 West.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Devon Schwartz residence, 8099 N. 800 West, Etna Green. Bishop Marlin Slabaugh and the Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate, and burial will be in Graber Cemetery.

Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
