Annabelle Rouch Clary

Rochester businesswoman, Mrs. Irene Annabelle Rouch Clary, 92, of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, on Aug. 31, 2013.

Born in Wayne Township, on Aug. 7, 1921, Irene Annabelle Rouch was the precious daughter of Loyd and Ruth (Pownall) Rouch. Growing up, she shared her childhood with two sisters Elnora and Doveda. With great pride, she graduated in May of 1939 with the largest class to graduate from Grass Creek High School.

On Sept. 4, 1954, Annabelle married Mr. Harvey Clary Jr. in Marion. Together, they raised two children, Darla and Ron. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Annabelle resided in Rochester since 1939, with the exception of her time wintering in Lehigh Acres, Fla. As an insurance professional, Annabelle served the Rouch Insurance Agency as an agent for 28 years. She was a director of the Mutual Insurance Companies Association of Indiana and was the secretary-treasurer of the Rochester Farmers Mutual Insurance Company from 1976-1988.

Local memberships of Annabelle were Grace United Methodist Church for over a half century, Tri-Kappa Sorority, Fulton County Republican Women and the Fulton County Historical Society.

Annabelle is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Darla Martens and husband Murro, of Argyle, Texas; a son, Ron Clary and wife Carlita, of Garland, Texas; four grandchildren, Jeana Clary, of Dallas, Texas, Melinda Clary, of Austin, Texas, Kevin Martens and wife Cara, of Flower Mound, Texas, and Kurt Martens and wife Kazzye, of Austin, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Cale and Riley Martens, of Flower Mound, Texas, and Sage and Sienna Martens, of Austin, Texas; a sister, Elnora Burton; and a sister-in-law, Pat Clary, both of Rochester.

Preceding her in death are her parents; beloved husband, Harvey, on March 11, 2000; and a sister, Doveda Showley in 1984.

A celebration of the life of Mrs. Irene Annabelle Rouch Clary will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with Rev. Maurice Grindle officiating.

Friends may visit with her family from 4-7 p.m. Thursday and an hour prior to her services.

She will be laid to eternal rest at the Fulton Cemetery, Fulton.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church.

Online expressions of sympathy may be made to Annabelle's family at www.goodfamilyfh.com.
