Alice Hively

Alice Jane Hively, 92, Rochester, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Hickory Creek, Rochester.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1920 in Baroda, Mich., the daughter of Ralph and Hilda (Ogren) Cover.

She was married to Sherman Hively, who preceded her in death in 1992.

Alice worked in production at Olden-Mathias, in Peru, and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Rochester, and had attended the Rochester Church of the Nazarene. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing word searches, working in her yard and caring for her dogs.

Survivors include her daughters, Shari Burns and husband Terry, Denver, and Crystal Hively, Rochester; stepdaughter, Marvis Zimmerman and husband John, Akron; stepson, Bill and Carol Hively, Akron; grandchildren, Brenda Ernest and husband Keith, Rochester; Nick and Mindi Kline, Tippecanoe, Chuck Kline and wife Paula, Fishers, Tina Kline, Rochester, Angie Johnson and husband Dan, Rochester, Kraig Burns and wife Tracy, Denver, Kelly Strahlem, Akron, and Kevin Burns and wife Brandy, Cape Coral, Fla., stepgrandchildren, Deb Lee and husband Arik, Rochester, Pam Romine and husband Brian, Mentone, Kay Hively, Cleveland, Ohio, and Lynn Yost, Cleveland, Ohio; 18 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, Maxine Klamp, Minnesota, and Charlann Cover, Rochester.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Karen Gunter and Loretta Jean Hively; brothers, Palmer 'Punk' Cover, Jack Cover and Harvey 'Sonny' Cover; and sisters, Miriam Gordon and Betty Klamp.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with Pastor Don Meyer officiating.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery, Macy.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fulton County Animal Adoption & Education Center.
