Laurie Wheadon

Laurie Ann Wheadon, 43, of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Parkview Hosptial Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

Born on Nov. 28, 1969, Laurie was the precious daughter of W. Ronald and Susan Diane (Smith) Wheadon.

Growing up in Rochester, Laurie was a proud graduate of Rochester High School in 1988.

Known for her extraordinary culinary skills, Laurie is best remembered for her delightful chili and her delectable lemon meringue and mixed berry pies. She was the proud owner of a unique collection of Indian trinkets and Harley-Davidson memorabilia. Paramount in her life was her son Wade Garrett, as she dearly cherished the time she spent with him.

Laurie is lovingly remembered by her son, Wade Garrett Wheadon, at home; her mother, Susan Diane Wheadon; her father, W. Ronald Wheadon and wife Bridget, all of Rochester; two brothers James Ronald Wheadon, Rochester, and Paul E. Wheadon, North Hollywood, Calif.; a sister, Goldia C. Wheadon, Fort Wayne; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Sue Smith, paternal grandparents, Wilbur O. and Joretta Wheadon, all of Rochester; a niece, Cree S. Wheadon; and a great-nephew, Isaiah Wheadon.  Several aunts and uncles also survive, along with her two cherished canine companions, fawn and brindle boxers, Blade and Buffy; and a feline friend, the Siamese, named Sushi.

A sunset gathering of friends and family reminiscing and remembering the good times will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday evening, May 1, 2013, at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.

Burial will take place at a later date at the Kewanna Citizen's Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the education fund of Laurie's son, Wade Garrett Wheadon.

Friends my sign the guest book or light a candle to honor Laurie's memory at www.goodfamilyfh.com.
