Joy Young

Joy L. Young, 50, 20414 Birch Road, Mentone, died unexpectedly at 10:27 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Woodlawn Hospital emergency room.

She was born Feb. 15, 1963, in Wabash County to William and Kathryn (Renicker) O'Hara. They both survive. On June 1, 1991, she married Mark S. Young in North Manchester. He survives.

She was the secretary of North Central Co-Op for more than 10 years. Before that, she was the secretary at Winona Corporation for 14 years.

Joy graduated from North Manchester High School in 1981. She enjoyed bowling, her chickens and all aspects of farm life, as well as being active in Kosciusko County 4-H in goats, sheep and poultry.

Survivors include her husband, Mark, Mentone; her parents, William and Kathryn O'Hara, Silver Lake; daughters, Mariah Young and fiance Austin Metzger, North Manchester, Megan Young, Mentone, and Christy Berger, Rochester; sons, Josh Young, Rochester, and Jeremy Young, Rochester; seven grandchildren; sister, Maryann and husband Jack Bever, Lagro; and brothers, Dan and wife Loni O'Hara, Silver Lake, and Patrick O'Hara, South Whitley. She was preceded in death by one grandchild and a brother, Scott O'Hara.

Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2013, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Larrie Kreft officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at King Memorial Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kosciusko County 4-H Poultry or the American Heart Association.
