Jane Louise Bailey, 85, Tippecanoe, passed away at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, following a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Alanson, Mich., to her mother, Mamie Dicus. Jane lived all of her life in the Tippecanoe Community. She attended Walnut Township and Argos Community Schools.

On Aug. 28, 1948, she married Glendon E. Bailey in the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos. He preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 2004.

Jane spent her life as a farmer's wife and homemaker. She spent many years milking cows and feeding chickens. Her greatest love was cooking and baking, followed very closely by gardening. She had prepared many goodies for this Christmas holiday and had spent much time canning this past summer. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, especially the hummingbirds, having to refill two feeders daily during the summer.

She was a member of the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos. Jane was formerly involved with Walnut Township Home Extensions Club and the Marshall County Farm Bureau, Marshall County. She and her husband contributed many projects to the open exhibits at the county 4-H fair.

Survivors include one daughter, Rosemand Lindenman, of New Paris; three sons, Dennis Bailey and wife Cindy, of Tippecanoe, Lyndon Bailey and wife Mindy, of Argos, and Tim Bailey and wife Peggy, of Argos; nine grandchildren, Kip Bailey and wife Dana, Kirk Bailey and wife Vicki, Kyri Quimby and husband Cal, Mandy Nifong and husband Andy, Scott Bailey and wife Mandy, Chad Bailey and wife Kylie, Alyssa Hoffman and husband Mark, Trent Lindenman and wife Heather, and Tori Lindenman; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband; and son-in-law Phil Lindenman.

Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos, with Reverend Robert E. Rice officiating.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos.

Electronic condolences may be sent to the family at
