Mrs. Eva J. (Collins) Reese, 96, of Rochester, passed away at 12:12 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Riverwalk Village, Noblesville.

Eva was born on April 5, 1916, in Oakland, Ill., the precious daughter of Roscoe and Grace White Collins. Growing up as one of eight children, she shared her childhood with four sisters and three brothers.

On Dec. 14, 1947, Eva married her best friend Buryl Reese, in Champaign, Ill. Their union spanned nearly half a century. Together, they raised two daughters, Evelyn and Shirley, and a son Harold. Over the years, the family tree grew with the added blessings of 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Eva is lovingly remembered by two daughters, Evelyn L. Walker, of Noblesville, and Shirley Parkhurst, of Plymouth; one son, Harold Smith, of Knox; one sister, Alberta "Bertie" Smith, of Rochester; and one brother, Merle Collins, of Rochester. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 49 years, Buryl, on Dec. 31, 1996; three sisters, Leota Parks, Edna Holloway and Mildred Emigh; and two brothers, Carl Collins and Melvin Collins.

A celebration of the life of Eva J. (Collins) Reese will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in the Good Family Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Rochester, with Reverend Maurice Grindle officiating.

Friends may visit two hours prior to the service in the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

Electronic expressions of sympathy may be made to her family at
