John Spencer

John Paul Spencer, age 76, of Cicero, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at Indiana University Hospital, Tipton.

He was born May 28, 1936, in Indianapolis, to Paul and Helen Ruth (White) Spencer.

He had served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1957. He then worked at Lehigh Maintenance, doing circuit breaker repair in Mentone. Lastly, he worked at Pinnacle Land Title, in Noblesville, as a title searcher.

He was a member of Cicero Christian Church and the Tipton American Legion.

He married Donna Belle (Ellis) Spencer on Feb. 26, 1966, who survives. Also surviving are sons, Brian (fiance Carol) Spencer, of Cicero, Kevin Spencer, of Tipton, Larry (Karen) Umberger, of Mocksville, N.C., Mark (Kathy) Spencer, of Westfield, and Paul (Leslie) Spencer, of Indianapolis; daughters, Brenda (Kurt) King, of Cicero, Kim (Russ) Milkey, of Arcadia, Twila Smith, of Rochester, and Janet (Greg) Murray, of Port St. Lucia, Fla.; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Spencer (Robb) Webb; 21 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him were his parents; one son, Jeffrey Spencer; and one brother, Lynn Spencer.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at Hartley Funeral Homes, Cicero Chapel, with Elder John Knapp officiating.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday.

Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
