Corinthy L. "Pinky" Kerr, 77, of the Rochester and Delong areas, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 30, 2012 at Life Care Center of Rochester.
She was born on Aug. 30, 1935, in Whiting, the daughter of James Adda and Sallie Corinthy (Gilliam) Kerr.
She had worked as a home health care provider to the elderly for many years. She was a member of the Cline Gardens Christian Church, Griffith, and enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include her sons, Daniel R. Quisenberry, Rochester, and David J. Zaja, Hendersonville, N.C.; one daughter, Diana Zaja and husband David Gilbert, Munster; grandchildren, Deborah Quisenberry and husband Wade Moss, Jacob and wife Denise Quisenberry, Jeremie Quisenberry, Daniel R. Quisenberry, Joshua and wife Emily Quisenberry, Francesca Carroll, Elizabeth Quisenberry and husband Rafael Jimenez, Krystal Quisenberry, Sheila Pierce, Renae Mercer, Christian Zaja, and Kyle Gilbert; great-grandchildren, Jordan Moss, Matthew Moss, Xavier Florida, Briana Florida, Benjamin Moss, Savannah Moss, Gabriel Quisenberry, Daniel Quisenberry, Blake Quisenberry, Malachi Quisenberry, Chelsea Quisenberry, Jacob Quisenberry, Angel Quisenberry, Deborah Quisenberry, Jordan Quisenberry, Courtney Quisenberry, Joslyn Quisenberry, Rafael Jimenez, Randy Lee Nichols, William Pierce, Candice Pierce, Camden Nichols, Ethan Nichols, Haily Nichols, Hunter Nichols, Sharlean Melroy and James Melroy and many more who called her Grandma Pinky; sisters, Eunice Marie Bullion and Naomi Grace Vavrecan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Randy A. Johnson in 2002; great-grandson, Ronald Carter II; brothers, Horace D. Kerr in 2003, William Nelson "Doc" Kerr in 1953, and Henry Alton Kerr in 1928; sisters, Julia Esther Dukes in 2002 and Beaulah E. Francis in 2000; and devoted companion and friend, Howard "Dees" Spradlin in 2010.
