George Hudkins

George K. Hudkins, of North Little Rock, Ark., and formerly of Rochester, passed away on Oct. 12, 2012 at his home. He was born May 17, 1933 in Fulton County.

Leaving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Lou Hudkins; his children, Robert W. Hudkins (Linda), Rochester, Diane Cole ( Bill Sosebee), North Little Rock, Ark., David Hudkins (Terry), Cabot, Ark., and Paul Hudkins (Gina), Hope, Ark.; his brothers, Richard Hudkins (Jean Simpson), John Hudkins (Dottie), and Virgil Hudkins (Sue), all of Rochester; one sister Mary Ellen George (Richard), Arizona; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred Hudkins; and two brothers, Don and Jerry.

Mr. Hudkins was a hard working family man who worked at the Studebaker plant in Indiana and then was part owner of a Marathon Oil station in Rochester.

He later moved to Arkansas, owning a Dean Foods distributorship in Little Rock and later retired from AFCO Steel Company. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in North Little Rock and enjoyed hunting, fishing and his Thursday night poker game with his neighbors.

He was an avid Razorback fan who enjoyed watching auto racing, attending Cubs games and spending time on the family farm. He was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church.

Services were Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, North Little Rock, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, Ark., or the American Heart Association.
